Francesca Cornelli is Professor of Finance at London Business School. She is the Head of the Finance Department and the Director of Private Equity. She also held positions or taught at the Wharton School, the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, The London School of Economics, the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad and the New Economic School in Moscow. Her interests include corporate governance, private equity, privatization, bankruptcy, IPOs and innovation policy. She has published several papers in the major finance and economics journals and she gives regular talks in major conferences and Universities. She is an associate editor of The Journal of Financial Intermediation. She has been an associate editor of the Journal of Finance from 2003 to 2012 and a member of the board of editors of The Review of Economic Studies from 1998 to 2007. She is also the editor of Private Equity Findings.
During last fall Francesca Cornelli was part of the panel, chaired by Paul Myners, which compiled the “Independent Review for the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation & Skills: IPOs and Bookbuilding in Future HM Government Primary Share Disposals” report, published last December. The report revealed a list of topics and challenges regarding the IPO process, price discovery and bookbuilding.
